UltraGuard Transient Voltage Suppressors: AVX UltraGuard (UG) Transient Voltage Suppressors were developed to address the growing demand for faster semiconductor clock speeds and an increasing dependence on batteries as a power source. Designed with a very low leakage current, the UG series is offered as an ideal transient protection solution for high clock speed integrated circuit applications, battery-operated devices, backlit displays, medical/instrument applications, low voltage power conversion circuits, and power supervisory chip sets. The UG series' low leakage characteristics also make it suitable for optic circuits such as LDD, SerDes, and laser diodes. AVX UG Series offers discrete chips (0402, 0603, and 0805), 2-element packages (0405 and 0508), and 4-element packages (0612).
